I am sharing mom and my conversation today, Friday, March 16, 2012 because this conversation means the world to me. I am writing this
note sitting in my mom's favorite chair in her home at the supportive living
place that we are moving her out of this Sunday. God certainly blessed me. I have waited 56 years for
the gift I received from my mother today.
The visit started out as
so many have in the past. We went for a
walk, sat under gazebo looking out on pond, and had ice cream. She was
frustrated and tired from all the physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Ron stopped by for a while to visit with us. Before Ron left she told him that she loves him a lot. He told her the same thing.
After Ron left and she and I were sitting in her TV room my mom had a lot to say to me. I wanted to capture every word by writing them down as soon as I left her. I never wanted to forget this day. Here are some of the things I remember:

I love you with every minute of every day even when I am in a bad mood.
I am so sorry I treated you badly. I was bad to you. Forgive me.
I appreciate everything you do.
Julienne, you treat me good. I know you are doing a lot for me.
I know I am in a bad mood I still want to see you.
Does Ron hate me for you spending so much time with me?
She wanted to kiss me several times today. I told her I was going to Michigan tomorrow for Ron's Aunt Erma's 90th birthday. I would see her Sunday. She shook her head. . .more kisses.
After all these years I finally know that my mother loves me and I love her too.
I waited all my life to hear her say and mean these words to me. With God’s blessing, I never gave up on her. Needless to say I had a beautiful visit with my mom today.
Julienne - I have been reading a few of your posts, and I am touched by your story and how you are retelling it for all of us. Please don't stop!
